Jan Northrop Joins Staff
LearnLax Academy is proud to announce that Jan Northrop has been added to the staff. Jan, a four
year starter at Penn State University and team captain in 2001, will focus on teaching proper
defensive technique. When asked why he decided to join the LearnLax Academy Staff, Jan said:
"I picked up a Lacrosse stick for the first time on Christmas day of my sophomore year in high school.
I haven’t put it down since. I used a brick wall to learn to catch and throw, but the fundamentals
didn’t come so easy. By the time I got to Penn State my fundamentals were not nearly as good as the
Maryland and upstate New York guys because I never had anyone break down the basics for me. When I
learned that Tony Lowe and LearnLax Academy offered personalized, in-depth teaching and coaching of
these skills I could not wait to get involved. Through LearnLax, I can give your child a leg up on
his peers by passing on the experience and information only gained by playing at the highest levels.
I am extremely excited to join LearnLax Academy. Not only for the opportunity to work with such a
talented team, but also for the thrill and excitement of shaping and molding the future lacrosse
players of Florida."
LearnLax Academy is very excited as well. Jan can be reached via email at
jan@learnlaxacademy.com.
